Personal Imprisonments

No one asks to be birthed into this world. It's something that is dictated to us. For some life seems great to others it proves to be very negative. What dictates this?

Whether we love life or not all of us are born imprisoned in some way or another. This imprisonment actually begins the moment we're conceived. That's when we become recipients of the human nature.

Being a parent has a unique way of revealing human nature. Sibyl rivalry is not something we teach our children. It's amazing how much is a part of people by simple birth. There are definite things that come natural to all children regardless of nationality or social environment. All humanity has much in common.

The Need For Change

It's very interesting to notice how people of all nationalities have the same basic problems in life. Regardless of where we're born it seems we're all prone to killing each other. Is there a nation on earth that has not been involved in some kind of war. We can seek to justify these actions, however, the fact remains, people kill other people. Other common social problems are things like theft, lying, cheating, unfaithfulness, etc. We have the same basic human nature.

Societies seek to control behavior that is hostile, unfair, unjust and the things that basically are not conducive to a peaceful coexistence. Civil laws and policing are put into place to curb and suppress unacceptable behavior. The problem is none of these good initiative have the power to change the human heart. Suppress it yes, change it no!

Human Inadequacies

The heavy weight of human nature is evidenced through the often over loaded justice and prison systems. Society struggles to implement systems that will effectively address illegal drugs and addiction problems. What's the answer?

Barely a week goes by in American news without the mention of some gross murder or murders. Then there's the growing evidence of corporate and political corruption. Marital unfaithfulness has become so common people have become so accustomed to it that it's even expected.

All these are weights on society, however the heaviest weight is in the heart and life of the individual. How to break free from poor self esteem, paranoia, rejection, fear, unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred, envy, etc. Nothing weighs quite as heavy on us though as the inability of "self change".

New Power Source

Humanity has a fundamental need and it sits squarely in the engine room of the human heart and soul. By natural birth we lack the spiritual power to perform to God's standard this is why Jesus said that people MUST be "Born Again".

The demands to perform never release the needed power to perform. Jesus said that He came that people might have life and by that He means the divine life that meets the divine standards. Jesus is offering this power to you today.

Being "Born Again" is basicly having God replace the power source (engine) of our life. Only by being spiritually re-engined are we able to please God. Through being spiritually rebirthed we are given the power to perform to God's standards. Performing to God's standards requires His power and this power is only available through Jesus Christ.

Body - Soul - Spirit

Humans are a "Triune Being". That is, we have a body which is conscious of the physical realm; a soul which is our "self-consciousness" and we have a spirit, which is our "God-consciousness". It's here, in the human spirit, that we need to be "Born Again", receiving from God new spiritual life.

A stroke victims's physical body is alive yet part of it is numb and without feeling. This illustrates the human heart. It's alive but lifeless towards God. Sin has done this to us all.

Until we are given new life in our spirit by God we lack the capacity to really relate to, or have a proper functioning relationship with God. To live and function in the spiritual realm with God requires that we have His life in our spirit. Only then can we sore with freedom and victory. Only then can we truly experience intimacy with the Living God.

Change

These automobiles are exactly 100 years a part. What a change there's been since 1908. There's an old saying, "Nothing stays the same any longer than it takes to change it". Somethings are more obvious than others. Life itself involves constant change. Fight it or not change happens.

Like aging, some changes are natural, others however, are man made. When it comes to spiritual change in the human heart it requires an ability that only God possesses. This 1908 Buick was incapable of changing itself.

The change required in order for the human heart to be made alive towards God can only come from the Engineer and Author of Life. There are definite things about our self that we can change, the human spirit however, requires that God Himself create new spiritual life in the human heart.

The Finish Line

One day the checkered flag will drop and the "race of a 

lifetime" will be over. One thing is curtain, when it does, things will change. How do you think you're going to finish? How do you think you'll stand before God? He'll be looking for that one thing that makes people acceptable to Him. He'll be looking looking into your spirit. He'll be looking for the Life of the Lord Jesus Christ in you. He'll be looking to see if you've been truly "Born Again" by the power God.

Everyone and anyone can experience the life changing 

power God. Jesus died as the substitute for your sin. He took your sin upon Himself so that you could be free from its penalty. Jesus did for you what you could never do for yourself. Now He invites you to come to Him, to receive Him and the eternal he freely gives to all who believe in Him. You can have this life changing experience right now!
